Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer transportation?

Yes, of course! We will pick you up from your surgeon’s office and drive you to your chosen recovery site. In most cases we will drive you to your follow-up appointment(s) if it falls within our service agreement timeframe. Our nurses drive clean, well-kept cars that are do not have any advertisements, logos or wraps to maintain discretion.

Do nurses sleep during overnight recovery care?

Most asked question and concern from clients! Yes – but not much the first night and usually on a couch nearby. On multiply day/night recoveries we do ask if a bed or separate bedroom is available close-by. Our goal is that you are well taken care of 24/7.

Does Concierge Recovery Care only work for specific surgeons?

We are not associated with any one surgeon. We get referred to by many surgeons in the area as well as from past clients. If a former client referred you, please let us know! Our Registered Nurses are independent contractors, and we work for you!

What experience do your private nurses have?

Concierge Recovery Care refers nurses with ICU, CVICU, PACU and ER experience as well as post-op recovery and home care. This ensures the highest level of skilled nursing care. We do not use CNA’s or HHA’s. Our nurses are Level II background screened, have liability insurance, and are certified in BLS and/or ACLS.

How long do clients usually hire a private nurse?

Concierge Recovery Care works with you to plan your recovery and we can be with you for as little as four hours (minimum) or as long as 4 to 5 days (longer if needed). The time frame varies depending on the type of surgery and needs of the client.

Do I have the same nurse throughout my recovery?

Most times – yes, but length of recovery care and the nurse’s availability factor into the scheduling. We believe in continuity of care to provide a more personalized experience and make every attempt to reduce nurse turnover.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Zelle bank transactions and checks. Payment in full is due prior to your surgery date. Our complete payment, cancellation and refund policy can be found in our service agreement. Credit cards are not accepted at this time.

Do you accept health insurance?

No. Most health insurance policies do not cover private nursing care at this level.

Do you have a recovery center or house?

No. We provide one-on-one nursing care to clients in their home, hotel, or rental after surgery. Our clients value exclusivity, privacy and individualized care at their chosen recovery site.

Do you offer “A la-carte” services?

Based on staffing availability we are occasionally available to provide transportation, check-ups, wound and incision care or assistance with showering outside of the original service agreement to active clients only.  There is a minimum charge of $250 and should be arranged ahead of surgery. Final cost to be determined at consultation.

What do nurses do for food?

Nurses will bring their own food, or have meals delivered. While we appreciate and acknowledge that we are guests in your recovery space, we are there to take care of you, not the other way around!

Will the nurse cook for me?

Nutrition is very important in post-op recovery and our nurses will provide light meal preparation with food and ingredients provided by you. We encourage you to “meal-prep” some of your favorite foods so that meals are ready to go for quick preparation and for when you no longer have nursing care. Concierge Recovery Care can provide you with a list of suggested foods for your recovery.

I’m staying at a hotel, what do I need to do?

We will provide you with all the information you need for your recovery at a hotel or rental. This is all part of the planning process, so your recovery is stress free even before surgery. We’ll discuss your needs during the initial consultation.
